General Royalty Information:

A performance or royalty fee must be paid each and every time a play is performed, whether for profit or not, whether admission is charged or is not charged. Performance fees must be paid no later than 10 days prior to your first performance to allow for authorization of your production.

 

Rates for Nonprofessional Productions (schools, churches, fund-raisers, classrooms, festivals, etc.)

Opening night—$45
Subsequent performances—$25 each

Forensics competition or audition excerpts (lasting no longer than 10 minutes.)—$5 per performance or competition.

 

Videotaping rights for nonprofessional performances:

$100 plus 5% of all proceeds from video sales. All sales must be financially documented.

Professional companies may call for pricing.

 

Rates for Professional Companies (professional theaters, community theaters that charge admission, touring
companies, etc.)

Performance fees of $75 per performance must be paid a minimum of 10 days before the initial performance. (This
performance fee will be applied against the final 8% of the box office gross in royalties and is not in addition to it.)

Within 14 days of the last performance date, a royalty fee of 8% of the final box office gross will be due; financial

documentation is required.
Subtract the prepaid performance fees from final box office royalty payment.

 

Videotaping rights for professional performances:

Call for pricing.

 

All performance fee payments can be refunded due to performance cancellation up to 7 days before the first performance date.

No play from Creative Classics Scripts may be produced or performed without advance written permission and performance fees paid. A play is considered performed each and every time it is acted or read before an audience of any size, whether or not any admission is charged. Performance fees must be paid 10 days before the first performance date.

No performance fees or royalty fees must be paid until a play is set to be put into production.

You may not reproduce, edit, or rewrite any copyrighted material in part or in whole, nor may you videotape without written permission from the copyright holder. All rights, including but not limited to movie, radio, television, and/or audio rights; any written reproduction; excerpts; and/or foreign language translations, are reserved. Title 17, United States Code, Sec. 106.

We request that the producers of a play give credit to the author/s of a play/adaptation in all programs distributed in connection with the performance of the play and on all advertising, posters, play bills, etc.

We reserve all rights to decline to do business with and/or issue performance rights to any group or organization for any reason.
